One of them was delivered by the Chairman of the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) Harif Fadilah. According to him, working directly in hospitals and health facilities makes health workers the most at risk.
“Nurses or health workers have 3-4 times the risk of being exposed to it compared to the general public,” Harif said when contacted by detikcom, Thursday (29/7/2021).
“Boosters are needed to maintain the endurance of nurses / health workers, to maintain the running of services to the community,” he continued.
Deputy Chairperson of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), Dr. Slamet Budiarto, said that currently only 5 percent of the 1.47 percent of health workers received booster vaccinations. According to him, booster injection should be accelerated.
Harif agreed that apart from health workers, they also needed protection. However, with limited booster vaccine conditions, those who are most at risk need to be given priority.
“If they all (nakes) sick, who will serve?” said Harif.
