The government is committed to continuing sectoral social dialogue in order to resolve the problems linked to certain sectors outside the framework of the general increase in wages, having crowned the agreement of the round of April 2024 between the government, the trade union centers and organizations and professional associations of workers, said Tuesday in Rabat, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Labor and Skills, Younes Sekkouri.
In response to oral questions in the House of Advisors on the results of the social dialogue, Mr. Sekkouri stressed that this important agreement concretizes a large number of major commitments relating to the reference agreement of April 30, 2022, citing the achievements of dialogue consisting of a general increase of 1,000 DH net per month in salaries, paid in two installments and a new increase in the Guaranteed Interprofessional Minimum Salary (SMIG) to become “one of the highest on the African continent”, in addition to a global and significant revision of the Income Tax.
The minister also noted that the agreement was also an opportunity to agree on the working methodology on pension reform, emphasizing the need to preserve the assets of retirees while awaiting entry into force. force of the new reform.
It was also agreed to adopt a participatory methodology to reach consensus on a “unified vision” of this reform by next September, he maintained, calling on all stakeholders to demonstrate a “spirit of patriotism and commitment, through the launch of a process of dialogue and responsible debate.”
Regarding the organic law relating to the conditions and modalities for exercising the right to strike, the minister indicated that the government is working for its adoption during the current parliamentary session after the completion of its examination with the social partners , specifying that this text must guarantee the right to strike before addressing the conditions for its exercise.
