SEK 701 million in equity

Malmö FF has the largest economy in the entire Allsvenskan. This is evidenced not least by the latest annual report, which was released today, Friday.

In 2022, MFF made a record turnover of 589 million kroner (22 million more than last year) and much of that due to player sales in the form of, among others, Anel Ahmedhodzic, Amin Sarr and Veljko Birmancevic

– The main reason for the increase was the result of player sales, which amounted to SEK 96 million, an increase of SEK 80 million compared to 2021, says Malmö FF chairman Anders Pålsson in a statement.

The liquid assets amount to SEK 392 million.

The association made a profit of SEK 82 million. In addition, the club has now reached its highest equity capital ever, SEK 701 million.

At the same time that MFF made a record turnover, operating costs increased from SEK 411 million to SEK 507 million. In addition, Uefa compensation fell to SEK 194 million, a difference of SEK 104 million from the previous time when MFF played in the Champions League. In 2022, MFF was in the Europa League.

But while the economy is stable, Chairman Pålsson sees that 2023 could be heavier.

– The coming year can be a financial challenge. Without games in Europe or major player sales, the financial outcome for 2023 risks being a significant deficit. Even better, Malmö FF has financial leeway to balance individual years’ deficits. The equity and the good liquidity mean that there is room to continue the sporting investment and to make investments in the business, he says.
