The prefectural service of the judicial police of Casablanca proceeded Thursday, on the basis of precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), to seize 13 tonnes of chira drugs on board a truck transport of goods and a commercial car, as well as the arrest of an individual, aged 39, the subject of a search notice at the national level for international drug trafficking for his alleged involvement in this criminal act.
In a press release, the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) indicates that the two vehicles were intercepted simultaneously in a rural area, located at the national road connecting Mediouna and Tit Mellil, around the city of Casablanca.
The search operations carried out resulted in the seizure of 11 tonnes and 600 kilograms of drugs packed on board the truck, while the same operation resulted in the seizure of one ton and 400 kg of drugs on board the utility car. , bringing the total of the cargoes seized to 13 tons of hashish, specifies the same source.
The respondent was taken into custody, while search and investigation operations are continuing to identify any national and international links and extensions of this criminal network.
