The victims, aged 85 and 87, were at their homes during the robbery. According to News 17, the thieves would have passed themselves off as fake police officers in order to put the couple at ease. Information that the Bobigny prosecutor’s office has not been able to confirm. In all, 42 kilos of gold bars and around 500 Napoleonic gold coins, as well as cash were stolen, according to victim statements.
The investigation was entrusted to the brigade for the repression of banditry (BRB) of the Paris judicial police. No arrests have taken place for the moment.
