The summer 2020 drought has left its mark. Twenty towns in Seine-Saint-Denis have been classified as natural disaster. The decision was published on Friday May 7, 2021 in the Official Journal.
Drought of 2020 and 2018
A total of 19 towns in the department are classified because of differential landslides resulting from drought and soil rehydration in the July 1 to September 30, 2020 :
- Bobigny
- Bondy
- Clichy-sous-Bois
- Coubron
- Gournay-sur-Marne
- Livry Gargan
- Montfermeil
- Montreuil
- Neuilly-sur-Marne
- Noisy le Grand
- Noisy-le-Sec
- The Pavilions-sous-Bois
- Pierrefitte-sur-Seine
- Pre-Saint-Gervais
- The Raincy
- Romainville
- Rosny-sous-Bois
- Hello
- Villemomble.
The town of Tremblay-en-France is also recognized as being in a state of natural disaster following the drought in April 1 to September 30, 2020. As for Raincy, the state of natural disaster follows the drought of October 1 to December 31, 2018.
For the inhabitants affected, this recognition will allow the work to be covered by insurance via the natural disaster guarantee. They have until Monday May 17, 2021 to report to their insurer.
