Fighting commotion this Wednesday noon in Villepinte (Seine-Saint-Denis). The Raid men intervened at the end of the morning in an apartment in the Clos Montceleux district to arrest a suspect.
According to our information, it was one of his friends who showed up at around 10:30 a.m. at the police station, explaining that he had discovered grenades in this apartment, which was in fact a squat. “His friend told him he wanted to blow everything up,” says a source close to the case, without further details.
The police quickly intervened on the scene. A security perimeter has been set up while the elite unit of the national police gets into position.
The terrorist character is not retained
Helmeted, armed and dressed in black, the high-risk intervention specialists mounted an assault column before entering the apartment. The premises were occupied by seven men. “The arrest took place without incident and the police actually discovered seven defensive grenades and a kilo of cocaine in the accommodation,” adds our source. At 12 noon the operation was over. The 36-year-old man, unknown to the police, was taken into custody at the premises of the Seine-Saint-Denis departmental service where he is to be questioned.
The Bobigny prosecutor, Éric Mathais, confirms that an intervention went well this morning in this district. But the dangerousness of this man is not yet determined at this time. “. I would like to point out that the terrorist character was not retained in this case”.
