The facts took place on the evening of Saturday: a man sprayed a woman with flammable liquid in a bus in Noisy-le-Sec, in Seine-Saint-Denis. An individual was suspected shortly after the assault and was taken into police custody on Sunday. But the Bobigny prosecutor’s office said on Monday that this suspect was finally released.
The assailant, who fled on Saturday shortly after 7 p.m., is therefore still wanted.
The victim’s days are not in danger
The 54-year-old victim suffered burns to his face, scalp and neck, but his life is not in danger. The victim’s companion immediately rescued him, helped by the bus driver who extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher, and both were slightly injured.
The investigation for attempted voluntary homicide was entrusted to the judicial police of Seine-Saint-Denis.
