Seine-Saint-Denis, the last department on the left in Île-de-France

Stéphane Troussel, the outgoing president of the department has won his bet with the Union of the Left which wins the elections. The right regresses and loses a canton compared to 2015. Ls Seine-Saint-Denis is the only Ile-de-France department on the left.

In the lead with 54.96% of the vote, the united left is doing even better than in 2015, winning in 13 cantons out of the 21 in the department.

The right has not succeeded in tipping the department as it hoped and is retreating from 2015 by losing a canton. Note the victory of Karine Franclet (UDI) at Aubervilliers. It confirms its good results obtained during the municipal elections last year.

For this second round of the elections, with 73.53%, the abstention remains very high despite a slight jump. In the first round, it had reached 75.65% of the electorate.
