Free laboratory screening
It is in this context that health insurance recalls that non-prescription screening is possible in a medical biology laboratory, free. “Faced with a surge in HIV cases in France and in particular in the Seine-Saint-Denis department, this measure makes it possible to strengthen HIV screening and prevent transmission of the disease as soon as possible”, indicates the CPAM. In 2019-2020, 26% of new diagnoses were made in an advanced stage of infection.
The screening system is open to people with social insurance, their family members and beneficiaries of State Medical Assistance (AME). Near 90 medical laboratories they are distributed throughout the provincial territory.
