The police custody of the four people, suspected of having assaulted and insulted a Jewish family Thursday in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis) during the Hanukkah feast, have all been lifted, the Bobigny prosecutor’s office said on Sunday.
No prosecution for the moment
No action has been taken at this stage. But the procedure will be sent to the prosecution for “examination and assessment of the follow-up to be given”, said this source.
The four individuals, two adults in an irregular situation and two minors, were heard as part of an investigation into anti-Semitic insults and violence without days of ITT (temporary incapacity for work).
“Fuck the Jews” in the face of messages of peace
At around 8:40 p.m. Thursday, a family with children was in a car when they were attacked by a “group of individuals” as the vehicle broadcast “music and messages of peace in Hebrew” to the occasion of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights, according to a source close to the investigation.
The individuals uttered “fuck the Jews”, before “shaking the car and throwing glass bottles on the body,” the source said.
