After the signing of the agreement with the prefect of Seine-Saint-Denis, Friday January 22, 2021, everything is now ready for the arrival of the local police at Gagny (Seine-Saint-Denis). This should be installed within a few days.
With the arrival of this municipal police, the mayor, Rolin Cranoly, wants to ensure urban tranquility to its inhabitants, in co-production with the national police.
Fight against everyday incivilities
This municipal police force, voluntarily on a human scale, made up of ten agents, will be tasked with the fight against everyday incivilities such as traffic violations and illegal dumps. Its main mission will be to ensure the tranquility of the inhabitants. The mayor does not say he is “worried” but “the little delinquency annoys me. Incivilities are today crimes ”.
To carry out its missions, Gagny municipal police will be armed and will have a dog team in its ranks. It will also be supported by the video protection network currently under development in the town. A multi-year plan has been launched with the installation of 50 cameras per year in order to reduce incivility.
“The excellent partnership existing between the Commissariat (of national police, editor’s note) of Gagny and the municipal services will allow the municipal police to strengthen the work of the police in the field, without supplanting the sovereign missions of the national police, ”says Rolin Cranoly.
