It is a small business that was once very lucrative. Tuesday March 23, 2021, three people aged 23 to 27 were arrested in Seine-Saint-Denis. They are believed to have mounted a fake VTC company and embezzled hundreds of thousands of euros.
Use of private drivers
Brought before the judge, the former president of the company Sendrive registered at Stains is prosecuted for acts of concealment, abuse of social property and laundering of tax evasion.
The company used private drivers. According to the Bobigny prosecutor’s office, “salaried work is not fully characterized”. “The company leased vehicles to private drivers who logged into the driver apps. The payment for the races was paid on the company bank account before being paid to the drivers minus the rental price of the vehicle, ”explains the prosecution. He also reportedly recruited three people to manage the fleet of vehicles, without declaring them.
750,000 euros transferred to personal accounts
Company funds were then transferred to family members’ bank accounts.
Almost 300,000 euros were transferred to the family’s bank accounts and more than 450,000 euros to the personal bank account of the former leader.
In total, nearly 750,000 euros would have been transferred to personal accounts. The brother of the former leader is being prosecuted for concealment of misuse of social good. He would have benefited from more than 180,000 euros from the company “without economic justification“, According to the prosecution. In total, over the period from October 2018 to November 2020, company funds would have been used for personal purposes to the tune of 790,000 euros.
The new manager of the company is also being prosecuted for providing false information to the commercial court. He is suspected of having been the “straw manager” of the company. The three defendants should be tried on December 10, 2021 at the Bobigny court.
