The inhabitants of Seine-Saint-Denis are organizing to help the Ukrainians, plunged into a war against Russia since last Thursday. Several municipalities set up collections of basic necessities: blankets, clothing, hygiene products, food.
This is the case of Ile-Saint-Denis, the city offering its citizens the opportunity to drop off products directly at the town hall. “They will then be transported to Ukraine through the Ukrainian Embassy in France”, undertakes the municipality.
In Bondy, residents can donate materials: sleeping bags, sanitary products, on Friday March 4, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday March 5, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Espace Marcel-Chauzy. The collection is organized in partnership with Civil Security. The city asks to deposit its donations in a cardboard box, with a label describing the contents.
In Saint Denis, the city is setting up a fundraiser at City Hall, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. On its website, it lists the products that Ukrainian refugees need: medical gowns, dressings, surgical masks, soap, medicines, etc. The town hall is also setting up a platform to identify residents who wish to provide accommodation to accommodate refugees. .
In Aulnay-sous-Bois, the town hall is joining forces with the parents’ association of the Polish school to organize a collection of basic necessities. The association will hold three stands to collect donations: Saturday March 5, at the old country market, and Sunday March 6, at the station and La Rose des vents markets.
In Drancy, the merchants of the 4 roads market are organizing with the city a collection of donations which will be sent to Poland. Residents can come and give to the dedicated stand on Sunday March 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 4 routes market.
In Gournay-sur-Marne, the town hall has set up a collection at the Maison pour tous, at the Jean-Claude-Bouttier sports complex. The city’s website lists the basic necessities and equipment that volunteers can bring from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. “The town hall warmly thanks the inhabitants for their mobilization in favor of the victims of this conflict and recalls its full solidarity with the Ukrainian people”, writes the municipality.
An organic store is committed
In Villemomble, generous donors will be able to bring basic necessities to 12, rue Pasteur, the next two Fridays, March 4 and 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., as well as Sundays, March 6 and 13, from 10 a.m. to noon. “A Ukrainian transporter from Villemomble provides transport to the Polish border”, specifies the city.
At the Pavillons-sous-Bois, the municipality announces that it is approaching the Red Cross to organize a collection “and provide humanitarian aid. We are awaiting the latest instructions in order to be able to organize this collection effectively, ”specifies the town hall.
In Noisy-le-Grand, it is a store sign, Le Grand Panier bio, which calls on its customers to donate clothes and food until Saturday, March 5. “Your donations will then be sent to Poland, at the Ukrainian border by Maria, our Polish employee,” says a post from her Facebook page.
Several gatherings are also organized, such as in Saint-Denis this Wednesday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. in front of the town hall and in Livry-Gargan at 7 p.m., also in front of the town hall. Flags and illuminations in the blue and yellow colors of Ukraine also mark the support of several municipalities in Seine-Saint-Denis.
