The inhabitants of Seine-Saint-Denis are organizing to help the Ukrainians, immersed in a war against Russia since last Thursday. Several municipalities have set up collections of basic necessities: blankets, clothes, hygiene products, food.
This is the case with Ile-Saint-Denis, the city that offers its citizens the possibility of delivering products directly to the town hall. “They will then be transported to Ukraine through the Ukrainian embassy in France,” the municipality commits.
In Bondy, residents can donate materials: sleeping bags, sanitary products, Friday 4 March, from 14:00 to 18:00, and Saturday 5 March, from 9:00 to 12:00, at the Espace Marcel-Chauzy. The collection is organized in collaboration with the Civil Security. The city asks to deposit their donations in a cardboard box, with a label describing its contents.
In Saint Denis, the Municipality will set up a collection of donations at the Town Hall, from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 19:00, and on Saturdays, from 9:00 to 18:00. On its website, it lists the products Ukrainian refugees need: gowns, dressings, surgical masks, soap, medicines, etc. The city hall is also creating a platform to identify residents who wish to provide accommodation to accommodate refugees.
In Aulnay-sous-Bois, the city hall is joining forces with the parents’ association of the Polish school to organize a collection of basic necessities. The association will set up three stands for the collection of donations: Saturday 5 March, at the old country market, and Sunday 6 March, at the station and at the La Rose des vents markets.
In Drancy, the merchants of the 4 streets market are organizing a collection of donations with the city that will be sent to Poland. Residents will be able to come to the dedicated stand on Sunday 6 March from 8:00 to 13:00 on the 4 routes market.
In Gournay-sur-Marne, the town hall has set up a collection at the Maison pour tous, at the Jean-Claude-Bouttier sports complex. The city’s website lists the basic necessities and equipment that volunteers can bring Monday through Friday, 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 7pm, and Saturdays, 2pm at 19:00. “The municipality warmly thanks the inhabitants for their mobilization in favor of the victims of this conflict and recalls its full solidarity with the Ukrainian people”, writes the municipality.
An organic shop is busy
In Villemomble, generous donors will be able to bring basic necessities to 12, rue Pasteur, the next two Fridays, 4 and 11 March, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and on Sundays, 6 and 13 March, from 10:00 to 12:00 pm. “A Ukrainian transporter from Villemomble provides the transport to the Polish border,” says the city.
At the Pavillons-sous-Bois, the municipality announces that it is approaching the Red Cross to organize a collection “and provide humanitarian aid. We are waiting for the latest information to be able to organize this collection effectively ”, explains the town hall.
In Noisy-le-Grand, is a sign of the store, Le Grand Panier bio, which invites its customers to donate clothes and food until this Saturday, March 5th. “Your donations will then be sent to Poland, on the border with Ukraine by Maria, our Polish employee,” says a post from her Facebook page.
Several rallies are also organized, such as in Saint-Denis this Wednesday 2 March at 18:30 in front of the town hall and in Livry-Gargan at 19:00, also in front of the town hall. Flags and lights in the blue and yellow colors of Ukraine also mark the support of several municipalities in Seine-Saint-Denis.
