Seine-Saint-Denis. 2-year-old boy in critical condition after falling into rainwater trough in family garden

A 2-year-old boy is hospitalized between life and death after falling into a rainwater collection tank installed in the family garden in Sevran, in Seine-Saint-Denis reports Le Parisien.

The facts occurred on Saturday afternoon.

The child was in the care of his grandfather when the accident occurred.

The grandfather has gone away for a few moments, leaving his grandchildren unsupervised in the garden. On his return, he noticed the absence of one of the family members. He immediately alerted the mother and then the police who began to inspect the neighborhood in search of the child.

A 40-minute cardiac massage

But the little boy was not outside the pavilion. He was found by the grandfather drowning in the rainwater collection tank in the garden.

When paramedics arrived, the little one was in cardiorespiratory arrest. Cardiac massage was performed for 40 minutes and then a defibrillator was used.

The firefighters and the Samu managed to recover the pulse of the boy who was immediately taken to the hospital in critical condition.
