Ibrahima, a 16-year-old from Bagnolet, was stabbed to the chest on Monday evening at Les Lilas in Seine-Saint-Denis.

A territorial rivalry?
According to the first elements of the investigation, a territorial rivalry between the two cities could be at the origin of the violence of the suspect, a teenager of 17, residing in Lilas.
The events took place in a residential area of Les Lilas. The presence of the teenager and two friends from Bagnolet in the town of Lilas would have pushed the author of the fatal blow to target them. However, the exact reasons remain unclear at this stage of the investigations.
Prolonged custody for the suspect
The suspect was arrested while he was on a Vélib, shortly after the incident, and was taken into police custody. Police custody which has been extended, said the Bobigny prosecutor’s office at the end of the afternoon.
The victim and the suspect are not known to the police. The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of the department.
The deceased teenager had just returned to the Première STMG in Montreuil. The town hall indicated that the school had set up a psychological unit.
