Now is the time to take stock for mini entrepreneurs from Walloon Furniture. The students of Henri Wallon college at Savigny-le-Temple held their closing ceremony last Tuesday at domain of Prévoté. Indeed, the adventure of the mini-enterprise comes to an end.
More than a year after the creation of Wallon Mobilier, the pupils are filing for bankruptcy, in order to make room for the next generation, next year, for the 6th year pupils. Specializing in furniture and decoration for both interior and exterior, from wooden pallets, the mini-enterprise aimed to enhance and empower students, while claiming to be concerned about the environment.
After a few sales in Savigny-le-Temple, including the Miroir d’eau market, as well as a Jury Coup de Coeur prize in the departmental mini-business competition, the mini-entrepreneurs raised nearly 1,300 euros, including 300 euros. will be donated to the association Lulu les P’tites Bouilles de Lune, which fights against cancer in children.
Looking forward to the next generation
“We do not yet know what the project of the next mini-enterprise is going to be,” says Fabienne Benyelloul, supervisor at Wallon Mobilier. Because the next will be the 6th grade students, with another supervising teacher. The goal? That as many students as possible participate each year and become responsible. For mini-entrepreneurs, this represents a real challenge but a real enriching experience.
“We have proven that we are capable of the same things as general sectors,” proudly affirms Fatoumata, one of the CEOs of Wallon Mobilier. There have been ups and downs, demotivated people, but it is the life of a company, even if it is difficult to manage ”, continues the teenager, who wants to become a nurse. For others, it was the trigger to discover the world of work.
“I would like to become a pastry chef, and this project motivated me in my future entry into the world of work,” testifies a third year student. “This project allowed them to enhance themselves”, underlines, moved, Fabienne Benyelloul. A project in which everyone will therefore have been able to find their place, but also to prove their value.
