The shop E.Leclerc, established since 2012 in the commercial area of Four oaks at Pontault-Combault (Seine et Marne) will close its doors permanently on December 31.
In question ? Renegotiation – unsuccessfully – of the lease binding the hypermarket to the owner of the area. “There was no agreement reached with the owner of the site for a continuation of the lease beyond January 31, 2021. Under these conditions, the only possible option for the store is to close on December 31,” commented in July on E.Leclerc group.
Replaced by Costco
Some of the 130 employees of the site will undoubtedly be able to find within the new Leclerc Fontenay-Trésigny which is due to open in September 2021.
For others, it will also be possible for them to apply at Costco. Indeed, the American retail chain is going to redevelop the current premises occupied by Leclerc.
The opening of this new supermarket, the second store of Costco in France after that of Villebon-sur-Yvette, is scheduled for late 2021.
