This was the first time Seiko included a Kinetic Direct Drive movement in its Sportura models. The Sportura Kinetic Direct Drive power reserve indicator provides instant feedback as the kinetic energy of your movement is converted to stored electricity to drive the watch.

Of course you can also increase the power via the winding crown which has been rearranged with deep indentations to ensure a good grip.
