Journalist and writer Pablo Trincia intervened on Seifeddin’s story – which is having a wide echo on social media – and invites us to share his appeal to participate in the child’s funeral which will be held tomorrow in Valera.
“On Monday, August 12, at 10 in the morning, the funeral of Seifeddin, this little boy from Gaza, who died the other day while they were taking him to the hospital in Milan, will be held in Parma.
I think it’s very important to be there and rally around mother Sabrin and her 3-year-old brother Yousef.
Unfortunately I am abroad, otherwise I would have gone.
If you can, go there (I wrote the info at the bottom of the post).
It is an important symbolic gesture towards the Palestinian people that we too would greatly need.
Seifeddin Mohammed Yehya Barakeh had six months to live when a plane took him to Italy, where he needed urgent heart surgery.
He was born in Deir Al Balah on January 30, 2024 and together with other children wounded in the attacks in Gaza he arrived in Italy on Thursday.
After landing in Bologna, an ambulance was supposed to take him to Niguarda in Milan, but near Parma the little boy went into cardiac arrest and died in the pediatric intensive care unit.
Anyone who is able to attend his funeral can go on Monday 12th to the mortuary of the Ospedale Maggiore in Parma, from where a funeral procession will depart for the Islamic cemetery of Parma, in Via Valera di Sopra 115, Parma.
