Ségur de la santé: raising the salaries of caregivers

Within the framework of the Ségur de la Santé agreements, an increase of 183 euros net per month was granted to 1.5 million professionals in health establishments and EHPADs. This increase is unprecedented and deserved. It is recognition, but also the end of an injustice and allows all care professions to be upgraded.

The main conclusions of the Ségur de la santé:

  • 19 billion euros of investment in the health system to improve patient care and the daily life of caregivers;
  • 8.2 billion euros per year to upgrade the professions of health establishments and EHPADs and recognize the commitment of caregivers in the service of the health of the French;
  • 15,000 recruitments at the public hospital;
  • accelerate the exit from “all T2A” (fee-for-service pricing) and prioritize the quality of care;
  • finance the opening or reopening of 4,000 beds “on demand”;
  • put an end to the mercenarism of the medical interim at the public hospital;
  • give back its full place to the hospital service in health establishments;
  • train more caregivers in paramedical sectors to better take care of patients;
  • facilitate access to unscheduled care and coordinated exercise;
  • strongly develop telehealth by relying on the achievements of the crisis to provide better care to the French;
  • give the territories the main levers for investment in health in the interest of their inhabitants;
  • combat health inequalities.

As of today, the Government is going even further by increasing the salaries of staff in social and medico-social establishments and services in the same proportions.

More than 90,000 professionals working with people with disabilities, the elderly and people in social difficulty are affected by this increase of 183 euros net per month, and which represents an effort of nearly 500 million euros per year for the State.
