Sega unveiled Sonic Colors refurbishment and new retro collection

Sonic the Hedgehog turns 30 in June, and Sega began celebrating this week. On Thursday, the company kept up and anniversary sending, with various info about what the future holds for the blue hedgehog.

Among the bigger news was the unveiling of Sonic Colors: Ultimate, a revamped version of the Nintendo Wii and DS game Sonic Colors from 2010. The new version entices with upgraded graphics and some completely new features.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate kommer til PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S og Nintendo Switch.

Sega also went a little further back in time to fish for Sonic Origins – a collection of classic games from the series. The package includes Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2 and 3, Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic CD, but information on release date and platforms was not revealed.

The show rounded off with a glimpse of the next big Sonic game. This will happen sometime next year, but Sega did not reveal anything in the world. However, a leaked version of the teaser video hints that the game will be called Sonic Rangers.

In other Sonic news, voice actor – Roger Craig Smith – recently confirmed that he is back in the role of the hedgehog. It came after Smith first announced that he had lost his job as Sonic’s voice, apparently against his will.
