The Supreme Court of Cassation upheld a decision by the Plovdiv Court of Appeals, upholding the sentences of four people convicted of possession of drugs for distribution.

The Turkish citizen Ibrahim Ozil, who had a six-month visa for residence in Bulgaria, was found guilty of holding and distributing high-risk narcotic substances – heroin – on August 19, 2019 in Plovdiv without a proper permit for distribution. with a total net weight of 257.70 grams worth BGN 23,193 to hairdressers Elena Todorova and Selvet Hussein, as the act remained unfinished due to reasons beyond the control of the perpetrator. For this he was sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of BGN 7,000.

Hairdressers Elena Todorova and Selvet Hussein were found guilty of attempting to acquire 257.77 grams of heroin on August 19, 2019 for distribution by Ibrahim Ozil, each of whom received a suspended sentence of 2 years in prison. freedom with 4 years probation and a fine of BGN 5,000 each.

With the same sentence IV was found guilty in that in the period from 19.08.2019. until 22.08.2019 in the village of Gergini, region Gabrovo under the conditions of a continuing crime, without a proper permit, kept, for the purpose of distribution and distribution of high-risk narcotic substances in especially large amounts, heroin with a total net weight of 4567.98 grams totaling 388 681 levs and cocaine with a total net weight of 983 grams in the amount of BGN 78,640.80. He was sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of BGN 40,000.

After receiving a signal in the summer of 2019, the police began to monitor the two hairdressers who were distributing heroin to local dealers in Stolipinovo. They communicated over the phone with an unidentified person to supply them with drugs. The practice of the two women was first to take the heroin and, after selling some of it, to pay back to the man who supplied them. In August 2019, the Turkish citizen Ibrahim Ozil entered Bulgaria and contacted the girls by phone. Arrived in Plovdiv, settled in a room with his family.

The next day he visited the fourth defendant in the Ivan Vodenicharski case in the Gabrovo village of Gergini. On departure, the host gave two packages to the guest. One contained heroin and the other cocaine for a treat. The Turk arranged a meeting with the hairdressers. On 19.08.2019 he was arrested in front of the hair salon. Both hairdressers have been detained. Later, in the village of Gergini, in his home, Ivan Vodenicharski was arrested, and heroin with a total weight of 4.5 kilograms was dug out of the yard, hidden in packages. Nearly a kilogram of cocaine was seized from his car.

The sentences of all four are final and not subject to appeal.
