Loris Sichrovsky: “It’s about a forest that we’re trying to save. And of course there are two new animals and always a few problems.”
Emilia Maier: “And then you see how friendship and solidarity prevail in the end.”
This is your third film together. What was it like working with the others again?
Loris Sichrovsky: “We usually don’t see each other for about a year because we live all over Germany. That’s why it’s always particularly nice to see people again.”
Emilia Maier: “It’s really special because it’s such an intense time and we kind of grew up together.”
Which scene did you enjoy most while filming?
Emilia Maier: “I had a lot of fun filming in the forest because it was just so beautiful there. I also had a lot of fun in the scenes where I was able to sing a lot or play the piano. They are very emotional scenes.”
Loris Sichrovsky: “The forest was a great location. Everything that was built there was made with a lot of love and looked great.”
Your magical animals are not real and are only animated afterwards. Do you have any tricks for acting out the scenes with them?
Loris Sichrovsky: “The animal’s voice comes from a loudspeaker. Then you have to imagine the animal. For example, how big it is and where its eyes are.”
Emilia Maier: “It gets easier from film to film. In the first parts we had blue puppets for the animals. Now it’s often the case that a voice calls out: “The animal is walking across the table to the lamp”. You then simply turn your head in that direction. The important thing is that you play with the same energy and attitude as if you were really spending time with your best friend.”
There is a lot of singing and dancing in this film. Do you have a personal favorite song?
Emilia Maier: “My favorite song is ‘Will you come with me?’. It’s the low point of the film, where Lilith also sings along as Anna-Lena. It just sounds so harmonious. I love it.”
Loris Sichrovsky: “I think ‘caramel’ is beautiful.”
Are there roles from other films that you would like to play?
Loris Sichrovsky: “Well, if I had been old enough, I would have loved to be part of the ‘Wilden Kerle’ series. That would have been really cool.”
Emilia Maier: “I like roles that have a lot to express. But I’m also a huge “Mamma Mia” fan. A role should be fun, but also challenge you.”
