District Prosecutor’s Office-Plovdiv filed an indictment against Rumen Aleksandrov, 27 years old. He was brought to court for the fact that on 21.12.2019 in Plovdiv, he intentionally killed another person – Mitko Ivanov, 26 years old – a crime under Art. 115 of the Criminal Code.
Mitko Ivanov had a friendly relationship with a woman, but they broke up and she lived on a family basis with Rumen. The two lived in a separate apartment. Mitko Ivanov wanted to renew the relationship with his ex-girlfriend.
On December 21, 2019, Mitko Ivanov and Rumen Alexandrov met at the improvised market on “Batak” street in Plovdiv. They started arguing and got into a fight. Mitko pulled out a folding knife, which he used to injure Rumen Alexandrov.
The people in the market tried to beat them up. In the commotion, Rumen Alexandrov managed to get to his car and took a kitchen knife. He chased Mitko Ivanov, who tripped and fell on one of the stalls. Rumen Alexandrov caught up with him and injured him with the knife. The injured Mitko Ivanov died on the spot from acute blood loss.
In the case, witnesses were questioned, expert reports prepared, material evidence seized and others. The District Court-Plovdiv is about to schedule a hearing on the case.
