United States President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. Biden went to London’s Westminster Hall today, where he continues to worship the Queen. The American leader made the sign of the cross and placed a hand on his heart as he stood silently by the coffin. US Ambassador Jane Hartley was with the Biden family, BTA reports.
The American president and his wife signed the condolence book. Tonight, Biden will attend a reception at Buckingham Palace for King Charles III, and tomorrow he will be among the dignitaries at the Queen’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey. He is one of the many world leaders who came to London to pay homage to the Queen, who died on 8 September at the age of 96 after 70 years on the throne.
Hundreds of thousands of mourners queue for hours to pass the queen’s coffin.
