WICHITA, Kan. (Telemundo) – This Monday, April 26, Sedgwick County will authorize the distribution of vaccines against COVID-19 to the public without the need to request an appointment. The idea behind this is to facilitate the process of obtaining a vaccine.
–
According to officials from the Sedgwick County health department they decided to eliminate this method of requesting an appointment to help those who have difficulties with technology or are not familiar with the county’s electronic system.
This month the mobile clinics also had their opening, Adrienne Byrne with Sedgwick County says that so far the numbers of people vaccinated after attending the mobile clinics have not increased significantly, but she is still hopeful that more people are informed and want to attend.
–
She waits when people see that the mobile clinics are close to her neighborhood and there are people who speak her language. So more people feel confident and want to be vaccinated.
So far 37.0 percent of Kansas residents have been vaccinated.
