Sedesa asks residents of the capital to respect the vaccination schedule for minors

In order to avoid long lines, such as those that were registered this week, the Secretary of Health of Mexico City, Oliva López Arellano, invited parents, as well as guardians of minors between 11 and 5 years of age, to respect the inoculation calendar against COVID-19 and attend at the time that corresponds to them.

The official emphasized that in order to receive their vaccine it is important that children do not have symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or fever that could give signs of having COVID, since in that state they will not be able to be immunized, because the biological will not have the desired effect, added to the fact that it is necessary to isolate them so as not to infect other people.

He also recalled that the reactions to the vaccine in infants are the same as in adults: discomfort at the site of application of the biological, discomfort in the arm, headache, a little low-grade fever, which can be treated with water baths. lukewarm or a pediatric antipyretic and rest.

Similarly, López Arellano recommended not touching the place of the picket, nor applying ointments, and only if necessary, take a pediatric pain reliever.

Finally, in case the girls or boys are sick with COVID-19, the Secretary of Health asked not to worry about not being able to take them on the day that corresponds to them according to the established calendar, because 15 days after the minor passes the stage of the disease, it may be inoculated, for which it is necessary to wait for new dates to be given.
