Mexico City. The Army, Air Force and National Guard awarded ranks to more than 1,900 officers. The members participated in the promotion ceremony for the Special Promotion and First Sergeants, specialists, as well as reclassification and veteranization 2024, held at the “Sargento Pedraza” stadium located in Lomas de Sotelo, Mexico City.
The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Officer of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), who was accompanied by military and GN officials, as well as special guests and family members of 65 promoted, reclassified and veteran officers.
At the event, members of the Army, Air Force and National Guard were urged to continue preparing themselves comprehensively to be able to fulfill their assigned missions, demonstrating their vocation for service and loyalty.
At the same time, ceremonies were held nationwide in honor of 1,904 officers who earned a new rank, of which 1,487 were lieutenants who were promoted in the Special Promotion, 286 were second lieutenants in the Promotion of First Sergeants and Specialists, 78 officers in the Reclassification and 53 filled vacancies in the Veteranization contest.
Second Lieutenant Clerk Yesenia Hernández Solano expressed her pride in seeing the efforts of her colleagues who prepared to compete in the selection exams and earn a place in the promotion quota, which represents new responsibilities and new challenges that they will know how to face with intelligence, professionalism and integrity.
The promotion contests that the Mexican Army and Air Force periodically carry out offer opportunities for personal and professional development, based on the principles of equality, equity, transparency, professionalism and impartiality.
Promotion is an act of command through which a military officer is conferred a higher rank in the hierarchical order, the purpose of which is to fill vacancies in the Army, Air Force and National Guard with military personnel who are fit and prepared to perform the next higher rank.
The Army, Air Force and National Guard indicated that they recognize the efforts of the military men and women who were promoted today, who serve as a guide and encouragement for their fellow soldiers, by devoting their professionalism to the benefit of these institutions and the people of Mexico, by having better prepared military personnel and agents to carry out their missions.
