The Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) deployed more than 5,291 military personnel, from the Air Force and the National Guard, to the Yucatan Peninsula on Tuesday to assist the population due to the effects of the hurricane. Milton.
In a statement, Sedena reported that they activated the DN-III-E and GN-A plans in their relief phase in the states of Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatán.
The 5,291 elements, of which 2,841 are military and 2,450 national guards, established four coordinating centers, coordinate with the authorities of the three levels of government, exchange information, tour the risk areas, cleared roads and activated 142 shelters and temporary shelters for victims.

If required, the Sedena reported that also in the Valley of Mexico, 1,334 elements of the Disaster Support Force, 206 agents of the GN’s Emergency Situation Support Unit and 13 aircraft.
