Sedan, Bastia, Drancy, … the results of N2 A

It’s a truce and the time for the balance has struck in Group A of National 2!

Under the Ardennes reign. At mid-season, and at the start of a well-deserved break for the clubs of France, group A of National 2 can only note the advance taken by Sedan, intractable leader of the group. And the numbers speak for themselves: 15 matches, 13 wins, 2 draws and only one goal conceded. If the Boars seemed to slow the pace somewhat in December, chaining two consecutive draws (1-1 against Reims B, 0-0 in Mulhouse), they are nonetheless the team to beat in this championship.

A training that Bastia, another heavyweight of exercise, would necessarily like to pay for. Second with seven points behind, the Corsicans held the hellish pace imposed by the Ardennes club for a while. But suffered, like almost everyone, the law of the leader on September 7 during the clash between the two cadors in Corsica (0-1). With only two defeats and a draw, the balance sheet of the Islanders at mid-term is far from being thrown away. The latter, who also counted a late game and therefore potentially three more points, could well give some cold sweats to the Sedanais during the second half of the season.

But behind the irresistible duo, a real gap seems to have widened. Respectively third and fourth with 29 points each, Bobigny and Reims B, the first team to keep Sedan in check and the only one to score a goal, are still an illusion in the fight for the climb.

Far, far away, Sainte-Geneviève and Epinal are the only two other formations to score more than 20 points in the break (23 and 21 respectively). Behind, a soft belly is formed made up of Lusitanos (18), Lens B (18) and Belfort (17). The struggle for maintenance seems more indecisive.

The three temporary relegables that are Drancy, Croix and Schiltigheim share the same number of units (11) and are therefore far from unhooked. The proof: Haguenau (12), Saint-Quentin (13) and Mulhouse and Lille (15) point a few cables away. In short, a pool of A from National 2 fragmented for the moment, where various championships are played in one.
