Security: the chief of staff of the presidency dies in an attack in Nara

Four. This is the number of dead in an attack perpetrated by armed men on April 18 on the Guiré – Nara axis announced yesterday the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces in a press release. Among the victims is the chief of staff of the president of the transition, Warrant Officer Oumar Traoré who was in the delegation. This information was confirmed by an internal document of the presidency which evokes the funeral. The other victims are a security guard, a driver and a contractor, operator of the drilling. Another member, a driver is missing. The army statement on the attack mentioned agents of a drilling company “mobilized within the framework of the social works of the President of the Transition, Assimi Goïta”. Subsequently, in the evening, a press release attributed to the Ministry of Security, which was later denied, referred to the death of the chief of staff in the attack.
