Security measures have been ramped up in Mayo ahead of US President Joe Biden’s visit. The President is expected to arrive at Ireland West Airport this afternoon before heading to Castlebar and Ballina, where road closures and traffic diversions have been put in place. Gardaí are asking members of the public to follow their advice and plan their journeys accordingly. The use of drones is prohibited within 5km of any airport and over restricted areas, with non-compliance being a criminal offence. An Garda Síochána is also working closely with local businesses and residents to ensure the visit goes smoothly.
