Zach Dufman He is an expert in cybersecurity and advises all users to uninstall the Facebook Messenger app from their mobile devices. Alerting the community that this app violates the privacy of those who use it and that no one pays attention to its privacy policies.
“Messenger violates the privacy of users and there is no justification for that,” Dufman said in dialogue with Forbes.
The cybersecurity expert claimed that Facebook has the authority to monitor chat conversations if it so wishes. In addition, he assured that only individual chats have end-to-end encryption, while groups have no protection.
On the other hand, it also discouraged the use of Instagram chat. He assured that this internal messaging service is not secure and that the conversations can be observed.
Finally, Dufman recommends to stop using Facebook Messenger for WhatsApp, although the latter has been involved in criticism for changes in its privacy terms and conditions. This is due to its end-to-end encryption, both in private and group chats.
