Friday December 8the Nantes municipal council will meet again, from 9 a.m. at the Town Hall.
THE debates will focus in particular on security, sustainable development, city policy and budgetary orientations. News Nantes takes stock of the agenda.
- A new city contract
A new 2024-2030 city contract will be discussed by the council. The result of collective and collaborative work with “nearly 500 actors”, this city contract gives “a common direction, the
priorities and actions to be implemented by each of the mobilized institutional, economic and associative partners located in the 15 City Policy districts of the metropolis.
According to Bassem Assehsupporting proximity, citizen dialogue, city policy, among the priority axes of this contract are employment, the creation of social bonds, the transition (ecological and digital) as well as security.
- More participation in municipal councils
The questioning of elected officials in the municipal council will be put to the vote. If the proposal is voted on, it will allow the people of Nantes to ask elected officials a question or to solicit them.
- Creation of a canine brigade
We announced it last September. To support its municipal policies “in its missions of securing public space and dissuasion”, and in particular during the rounds carried out in the evening, the city of Nantes wishes to create a canine brigade. The subject is on the agenda this Friday.
- Budgetary guidelines
Another subject on the table this Friday, the 2024 budgetary orientations which will make it possible to “present the City’s strategy in this period marked by inflation and to announce the achievement of the investment program of the mandate”, according to Pascal Bolo, deputy in charge of finances.
- New neighborhood facilities
At the next municipal councilseveral projects will be submitted to the vote of the assembly: project of relocation of the district town hall and development of the Amande park in Nantes Nord, or the creation of two fields with natural material filling, one for football in the Bellevue district and the other for rugby in the Dervallières-Zola district.
- The Breton language in Nantes
In 2012, the City committed to joining the Breton language charter of the Public Office of the Breton Language. Level 1 of this charter having been validated in November 2023, it is proposed to the municipal council to approve the community’s engagement in the process of level 2 validationtherefore with new conditions for the City to fulfill.
