Sectors of Metropolitan area and of the eastern region of the island will run out of water from this afternoon until Thursday due to the breakage of a line with a larger diameter of the superduduct caused by a contractor carrying out some works on the grounds of the Bayamón Military Academy in Hato Tejas.
According to Roberto W. Martínez Toledo, executive director of the Metro Region of the Water and sewage Authority (AAA), the breakage identified in the 72-inch diameter line, has affected the distribution of the drinking water service in sectors of Santurce, Condado, Miramar, Old San Juan, including Ave Isla Verde, Piñones, Hollywood Hills, Floral Park and low areas of Hato Rey.
In addition, with the closure of the distribution system during the repair works, the distribution system of the Fina Roso 2 Station is affected, which supplies the service to areas of the Eastern Region such as Caguas, Gurabo and Juncos.
The affected subscribers are the sectors of Cañaboncito, San Antonio, Parque de Monte, Hacienda San José, Las Carolinas, Valle Tolima, Idamaris Gardens, Caguas Norte, Bairoa, Tomas de Castro 1 and 2, Villas de Castro, Parque Las Mercedes, Santa Elvira, Caguax, Villa Guadalupe, the Guasábara, La Barra and La Mesa neighborhoods, as well as the upper parts of the Municipality of Caguas; Veredas urbanization, Sabanera del Río, El Encanto urbanization, Navarro neighborhood, Jaguar, highway 181, Rincón neighborhood, Mameyes neighborhood, Jaguas, Lomas and the urban area of the Gurabo municipality. Customers from Valenciano, Valenciano Abajo, Marisesis, Lilies Cuatro Calles and Lilies Cala de Juncos and El Bo will also be impacted. Jagüeyes in Aguas Buenas.

- Calle Francia, corner Guayama in Hato Rey
- Loíza Street, in front of the last Trolley
- PR-187 in front of Municipal Emergency Management
- Hollywood hills
It is expected that, if there are no problems, the repair and recovery work on the system will be completed in a few 36 hours so the process of Service restoration must start from Thursday morning, June 4.
Given the possibility of turbidity, customers are advised that when service is restored, boil the water for three minutes before eating or washing food.
