Mexico City. From August 19 to September 26, 2024, road works will be carried out to complete the adaptation of the “A Cuautla” Junction at kilometer 70+500 of the Mexico-Cuernavaca Highway, so the road will remain closed, reported the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).
He explained that the works will cause the complete closure of traffic in the Cuautla-Cuernavaca direction, from the “Tepoztlán” Toll Plaza section kilometer 7+500 to kilometer 0+000 (Junction “A Cuautla”), in the direction of the state capital.
He clarified that the Cuautla-Mexico route continues to operate.
The federal agency recommended that users leave early and consider alternative routes, as well as take extreme precautions and respect speed limits.
He noted that the La Pera-Cuautla Junction is part of the modernization of the La Pera-Cuautla highway, which allows users to save more than 30 minutes in time and benefits more than 900 thousand inhabitants; in addition, once completed, it will provide road safety to the tourist and commercial area of the region.
