The Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić met the Dutch Deputy Foreign Minister, Anita Van den Ende. The discussion first focused on the preparations for the fourth Summit of Heads of State and Government in Reykjavik (16-17 May), a historic opportunity to strengthen commitment to the values of the Organization.
The exchange of views focused on the register aimed at identifying, with supporting documents, the elements tending to establish the damage, loss or damage suffered as a result of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as the claims for reparation .
Marija Pejčinović Burić underlined the importance of this first concrete decision on the establishment of responsibilities taken at the international level. “It is imperative to establish responsibilities, in particular for the crime of aggression”, underlined the Secretary General. She warmly thanked the Dutch authorities for accepting that the register be kept in The Hague.
