Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs Hartono and Director General for Social Security, Pepen Nazarudin, admitted that they had received a bicycle Brompton. Both claimed to have been given a bicycle by one of the suspects Corona Social Assistance Corruption, Adi Wahyono, who is also an official at the Ministry of Social Affairs.
Initially the KPK prosecutor asked about the search in Hartono and Pepen’s office. The prosecutor then confirmed about the Brompton bike that was confiscated by the KPK.
“Father, had his room been searched and any Brompton bikes confiscated?” asked prosecutor M Nur Azis at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Jalan Bungur Besar Raya, Central Jakarta, Monday (8/3/2011).
“We are indeed on that date we received Brompton, that is to deliver that’s the driver Adi, “said Hartono.
Hartono said that currently his bicycle is at the KPK. He emphasized that the provision of bicycles was not related to the Corona social assistance case.
“I was asked to return it to the KPK. Nothing (related to work),” he said.
Apart from Hartono, Pepen admitted to receiving Brompton bikes. Similar to Hartono, the bicycle was given by Adi.
“Yes (received), (from) Mr. Adi KPA,” said Pepen.
The prosecutor then confirmed whether they had ever received money. Both admitted that they had been given by Adi, but, he said, they refused.
“Did you receive money from Adi Wahyono as KPA of the Corona Bansos?” asked the KPK prosecutor.
“There have been several times, but I did not (accept),” said Hartono.
“I refuse,” Pepen replied shortly.
In this case, Juliari Peter Batubara and officials from the Ministry of Social Affairs Adi Wahyono and Matheus Joko Santoso were named as Corona social assistance suspects. In this trial, the defendants were Harry Van Sidabukke and Ardian Iskandar Maddanatja.
Both were charged with paying bribes to former Social Affairs Minister Juliari Peter Batubara et al. The prosecutor said that Harry gave a bribe of Rp. 1.28 billion, while Ardian gave Rp. 1.95 billion.
Both of them gave bribes so that the Ministry of Social Affairs appointed their company as the provider of Corona’s basic food assistance. They also deliver fee Rp. 10 thousand per social assistance package to Juliari every time they get the project, this money is called operational money.
