MEXICALI, FEBRUARY 20, 2021.– The Secretariat of the Field and Food Security (SCSA), carried out the training “Agronomic management of vine cultivation in the Mexicali Valley”, this as part of the State Advisory Program for Productive Reconversion.
The SCSA head, Héctor Haros EncinasHe pointed out that this type of course seeks to encourage agricultural producers in the Mexicali valley to be interested in other crops, which are also highly profitable, hence the importance of carrying out these trainings.
On the other hand, the director of Advisory and Technical Accompaniment of the SCSA, Germán Corrales Flores, indicated that the training consisted of 2 stages, one in the field and the other in theory; For this, tours were made in 3 vineyards already established in different rural areas.
Issues related to the agronomic management of the vine for the production of table grapes and raisins were also addressed, where information on pruning, fertilization, irrigation, weed control, pests, harvest, among others, was included.
Finally, the SCSA head indicated that these trainings were carried out taking into consideration the recommendations that the Health Sector granted in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
