Secret Windows XP theme changed operating system in a Mac

This is evident from the source code recently leaked from the operating system, said The Verge. The source code shows what exactly is behind Microsoft’s software.

That code includes the Windows XP Candy theme, which is suspiciously similar to the Aqua theme used in the operating system on Apple computers for many years. This made a computer with Windows XP suddenly look more like a Mac.

For internal use

The theme was experimental and was never completely finished. The code states that it was only intended for internal use.

Presumably Microsoft wanted to see how they could make their software more like Apple’s. Windows XP appeared in 2001, while the Aqua theme was presented at Macworld in 2000.

Create your own themes

The theme was also the basis for Windows XP software that allowed developers to create their own color sets for the operating system.

The source code of Windows XP recently appeared on the 4chan discussion forum. According to the anonymous publisher, the data had been in the hands of hackers for years, but is now available to a large audience for the first time.
