Secret Service of the Popular Front; Hit list of non-EU products: NIA-PFI | NIA

Kochi – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) told the court that the banned organization Popular Front of India has a secret wing. The NIA said it worked at the organization’s offices and blacklisted people from other communities. They had a statewide network and were responsible for data collection and list preparation. The NIA also told the court it has evidence of IS ties among the leaders.

The disclosure of the investigators is in the request to extend the pre-trial detention period of the arrested PFI heads of state. The court extended the defendant’s pre-trial detention period for another 90 days.

Last September, the PFI raided the homes and party offices of national and state leaders, took them into custody and recorded their arrests. The arrest was made in a joint investigation by law enforcement and the NIA with help from the Central Army. It was pointed out that Popular Front activists had provided money for terrorist activities and carried out weapons training with the knowledge of the leaders. The Patiala court has extended custody to those arrested in Delhi.
