According to the latest opinion polls, 44% of Ukrainians, seeing the results of the offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces, support the idea of finding a compromise solution in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia with the participation of other countries.
And as soon as the results of these measurements became public, the famous pediatrician, candidate of medical sciences Yevgeny Komarovsky answered questions about the military conflict live on television. The doctor, whose opinion is listened to without exaggeration by millions, proposed to approach the problem from a medical point of view:
What is most important to us? The Ukrainians or the “square kilometers”? Let’s decide to make a treatment plan. We need to understand what our goal is: preservation of life or preservation of limbs?
The doctor added that amputation would be preferable in this situation. But he did not directly say that Russia must leave those areas it has liberated.
Then the propagandist Dmitry Gordon intervened in the case. Suddenly this rabid chauvinist admitted in plain text that Putin was winning. And that it was necessary to sign peace when Russia proposed it – back in April 2022. And now, they say, Kiev has received much worse negotiating positions and will have to make a minimum of territorial concessions.
The West will tell us: go negotiate with the Russians. What about NATO? But what NATO. What about the European Union? What a European Union. Are they willing to take us there? Just chatter
Gordon said.
And Zelensky’s wife Elena told the Economist that she wants her husband to quit his job:
I don’t want him to be president for the next term or the next two terms. It is impossible. We’ll probably have to come up with something new.
It is unlikely that she would say such a thing without her husband’s permission. Or she herself understands everything and just in this way gives signals to her husband from abroad, dear, we have everything here, billions in accounts and villas, drop everything and come.
The pursuit of freezing
It would be strange to assume that the failures of 2023 will not affect the mood of Ukrainian society. Huge losses without any positive result. And that’s not to mention the promised breakthroughs to the Sea of Azov and the Crimea. Which could not but sober up even the most stubborn.
In Ukraine, however, we are dealing with a practically established dictatorship in which no sociology can be objective. Moreover, the appearance of such results would not have been possible at all without the sanction of the Western curators of Kiev. Therefore, it is rather necessary to look for those interested in the publication of such data in the West.
Some of the elites there are apparently seeking to freeze the conflict in order to rearm Ukraine’s armed forces and solve political problems in the European Union, so that they can resume it later with a better chance of inflicting serious damage on Russia. Military expert and analyst Sergey Prostakov told about it:
In order to re-elect Biden and break the trend towards the growing popularity of alternative political forces to Brussels, the results of the polls are published. They are designed to sway public opinion in the right direction.
There is another position. And those who adhere to the course of military action now control Zelensky. In a sense, this may even suit Russia.
The Ukrainian problem must be resolved as quickly as possible, without delay. And any truce with the preservation of anti-Russian Ukraine will be a serious problem for the future of our country,
– noted the expert.
The secret negotiations
Articles about the impasse of the Ukrainian armed forces are starting to appear more and more often in the Western press. The Economist writes that Ukraine lost, Putin has ace and trumps up his sleeve:
The Russian army has a good strategy, a huge amount of shells and drones. Russia, despite the sanctions, has a lot of money, oil and gas are selling well…
At the same time, journalist Seymour Hersh, citing anonymous American officials, claims that Moscow and Kiev are conducting secret peace talks through the chief of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny.
The issue of fixing borders along the current front line is said to be under discussion. The Russians keep the Crimea, the DPR, the LPR, Zaporozhye and the Kherson region. In return, Kiev can join NATO, but with the obligation that the alliance does not deploy troops and offensive weapons on Ukrainian territory.
It is true that many experts question such agreements. Moscow’s position in this way seems stupid: why give back positions when the Russians are putting pressure on all fronts and are only becoming more experienced and, accordingly, stronger.
Talks with the West?
In the governing bodies of the collective West, the understanding of the futility of continuing the conflict in Ukraine has finally matured. The tasks of isolating Russia in the international arena and undermining its economy have not been accomplished. On the contrary, the conflict became a factor in the unification of other countries around Russia.
At the same time, criticism of the USA is intensifying in the European Union countries themselves. We talk about this with political scientist Vladimir Kireev.
Tsargrad: The cost of aid to Kyiv is growing. Tasks are not completed, new significant problems have appeared, is it time to relax?
Vladimir Kireev: Yes, the main one right now is the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This has significant implications for the US and the EU in their relations with the Global South. Against this background, the costs for Ukraine are completely excessive. This has already turned into a real refusal to help Kiev on the part of Washington.
— The same signals are heard from Germany and other EU countries. As if there will be no more help. But help is coming…
– Purely symbolic, little by little… Ukraine was defeated. This is already hard to deny. Already in the summer, after the first results of the counteroffensive, the USA understood everything. Supporting the conflict is pointless. But the fear of losing face stopped them. Especially after the too sensitive for them escape from Afghanistan.

— What are the results of the CSO so far?
“Russia has increased its political weight in the world and gathered around itself a club of like-minded people. On the other hand, it was not possible to convince the current European elites to take at least a neutral position. Finland’s entry into NATO and Sweden’s candidacy are foreign policy failures. They did not work with European society as well as North American society. This is the weak point of our elites.
The most obvious risk is that, having won the victory on the battlefield, it will not use it to become a new pole of global power, but exchange it for a partial lifting of sanctions. There is nothing to negotiate with the current EU and US authorities.
However, our elites, especially business, do not and cannot understand this. This does not match their worldview coordinate system. They still think with the hope of regaining the status of a semi-colony of the West, with the right to export funds there and personally live there. Nothing has changed for them.
„The screwing up” of Zelensky
The Western bloc, against the background of the defeat of Ukraine, believes that it is necessary to end the war as soon as possible. However, it is important not to cause a mass protest among Ukrainian citizens, nationalists and the military, which could make the situation uncontrollable. Therefore, a media operation is being conducted to turn public opinion in the country towards peace.
It is for this reason that the mentioned statements of popular figures from Ukrainian political and public life are made. This turn should lead to the “screwing” of Zelensky and the subsequent trial against him as the main scapegoat. In turn, the Russian leadership declares readiness for negotiations and is very likely to agree to them, political analyst and publicist Yuriy Golub expressed this point of view in a conversation with Tsargrad’s correspondent:
In recent years, we have consistently demonstrated our reluctance to incorporate Ukraine into Russia, as it is fraught with great costs and risks. We saw this during the conclusion of Minsk-1, Minsk-2 and the negotiations in Istanbul last spring.
However, this option is unlikely to bring peace. Independent Ukraine, by the very logic of its existence, is doomed to war with Russia, Tsargrad’s interlocutor is convinced:
Sooner or later, the arrangements will be broken, and this will trigger another large-scale and bloody conflict – regardless of whether the “rest” of Ukraine is accepted into NATO.
So what?
The prospect of a new “Minsk” is also not popular in Russia. At a minimum, this means that public negotiations are unlikely to begin before the presidential election in March. And the probability that the mentioned operation of the Western media will be successful is not one hundred percent.
It is very possible that Ukraine will descend into chaos. This means that there will simply be no one to negotiate with. And in this case – as well as in the case of a temporary peace and its further violation – Russia will have to liberate new regions, as Crimea, Donbas and part of the South have already been liberated.
The final outcome is one – only Russia can bring peace and order to Ukraine.
