Secret Latin Easter Egg Uncovered in Cyberpunk 2077’s Grand Imperial Mall

One of the Cyberpunk 2077 players discovered an Easter egg indicating a very relevant theme of the game, hidden in a secret message written in Latin.

Reddit user CommercialLeg2439 discovered secret message in Pacifica, namely at the Grand Imperial Mall. When the sun sets in Night City, the mall lights flicker and only a few of them are actually lit.

Instead of Grand Imperial Mall, the sign says “gra d imperi l mali”. Fans have debated a bit about exactly how this is translated, but “gra imperi mali” means “thanks to the evil government.” Another possible solution is to leave the first letter “d”, which translates to “degree of evil government”. One user even suggested that the random “l” at the end could be the Roman numeral 50, which means something like “degree of 50 evil governments” or “thanks to 50 evil governments,” a reference to the 50 states of America.

Regardless, the hidden message fits very well with the main theme of Cyberpunk 2077 – a corrupt world in which ordinary people systematically fall victim to laws and corporations that tower over them.
