More than 750 people have been evacuated from the area near the Piast Canal on the outskirts of Swinoujscie, where the Tallboy bomb used by the British Royal Air Force was found.
The bomb has a weight of nearly 5,400 kg, including 2,400 kg of explosives in it.
“The taming process turned into blasting. “The object can be considered as neutralized, it will not pose a threat anymore,” said Second Lt. Grzegorz Lewandowski, spokesman for the 8th Coastal Defense Fleet, quoted by the PAP news agency.

The bomb was dropped by the British Royal Air Force in 1945 against the German cruiser Lutzow.
