Pouring (red). The second “Cultural Education” trade fair, which will take place on Saturday, November 16th, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the town hall, is dedicated to the main topic of “promoting democracy.” The aim of the fair is to enable dialogue, networking, information and inspiration for actors and institutions working in this field.

The fair is aimed at everyone who works in the field of cultural education: institutions such as schools or socio-spatial organizations that offer cultural education in their work, as well as artists and groups that develop and carry out such projects. A trade fair that is expressly open to interested audiences.

“With the trade fair, we offer actors in the field of cultural education the opportunity to exchange ideas, network and develop new projects in their field of work on the topic of democracy promotion,” says Mayor Frank-Tilo Becher. “With this main topic, we would like to set an example at a time when anti-democratic forces are growing and our open, plural and democratic society is being threatened,” the mayor continued. Head of Cultural Affairs Dr. Stefan Neubacher added: “The trade fair, especially the network meetings, offer space to explore the question of how democracy education can be lived and advanced even better in cultural education.”

The opening lecture will be given by Kelechi Onyele, TV host (“The Courage Maker”), author (“You are the solution”), motivational coach, external special trainer for the DFB and self-proclaimed ambassador for encounters and exercise. Actors from a wide range of areas of cultural education present themselves at trade fair stands: from funding providers to socio-spatial providers and socio-cultural centers to institutions and artists who carry out projects and make offers.

In thematically structured network meetings on the topics of music, visual arts, theater, cultural heritage and literature, actors and interested parties meet on the topic of “promoting democracy”. At best practice presentations, practitioners present their special approaches – and for discussion. In the final discussion, the day’s findings will be pooled together and discussed together.
