Second suspect arrested for the death of Ayla Mintjes | Inland

The man was arrested on Wednesday evening in a house in Nolensstraat. Officers searched various homes during the action and found, among other things, firearms and hand grenades.

After his arrest, the suspect was transferred to a police station. He will be brought before the examining magistrate this Friday. The man is in complete limitation.

A 20-year-old man has previously been arrested in the investigation into the shooting. On Thursday, the examining magistrate decided that he should stay in the cell longer. Nothing has been disclosed about his possible role.

On Sunday, a car with two occupants was fired on in the street in the New West district. The 27-year-old woman, who was behind the wheel, was injured but drove on. She later died in hospital of her injuries. The co-driver was unharmed. The two gunmen, who used automatic firearms, took off in a silver-gray delivery van after the shooting. That car was driven by a third suspect. A delivery van was later set on fire in the August Vermeylenstraat in West.
