According to information, the financial crime prosecution inspectors submitted a second document to the competent services of the Attica Region, and this time in the form of urgency, requesting that all “relevant signed contracts concluded between merchants and the Region” be sent to the House. In fact, the time period of the investigation “from the year 2018 to today” is expanded, that is, including not only the term of office of Giorgos Patoulis but also of Rena Douros.
It is obvious that the SDOE will check the contracts one by one as according to the complaints the Association that operated the festive bazaar was “renting” the premises, with amounts starting from 1,200 euros and reaching 1,800 euros per day, when each of the approx. 200 stands paid rent in the Attica Region for just 100 euros per day. At the same time, the phenomena of subletting will be examined, since it seems that even stalls were set up that did not have a permit. Once responsibilities are established, the relevant finding will almost certainly be forwarded to the competent Prosecutor for the investigation and possible criminal responsibilities.
We remind you that a few days ago, the regional governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, had referred to an “orgy of illegal trade” that was observed in the Field of Areos, adding that it would be dealt with with all legal measures. He also clarifies that “an end is coming to the practices of indecency and opacity”.
