A 47-year-old man had already been arrested on Thursday evening. On the day before the attack, he too would have been in contact with the 21-year-old Muslim extremist who eventually ended up in France as a migrant from Tunisia via the island of Lampedusa.
The 21-year-old Tunisian who murdered three people in Nice on Thursday has previously been arrested for using violence. According to justice in Tunisia, this happened in 2016. The man used a knife in that incident, just as in the attack in Nice. Justice in Tunisia started an investigation into the man on Thursday.
